The town was once the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Strathclyde.
There is a impressive castle perched up on a volcanic rock. Known as may have guessed the Dumbarton Rock.

We crossed the river Leven to get to the pretty Levengrove park. The park runs along the side of the Leven to meet the estuary of the River Clyde. It was very cold so we had to walk swiftly.

Went for a walk along the banks of the River Clyde this morning.
We had to stay local. So we went to Dumbarton`s Levengrove park.
Lovely park which leads down to the river. Here you can walk for miles a long a straight path.Loved watching the sea birds searching dinner.
The images are off Oyster catchers.
