Cramond Beach
During our last visit to Edinburgh we had an afternoon spare. So we
decided to venture somewhere different.
I heard a lot about Cramond so we decided to take the bus there.
Nice wee village. It is located the outskirts of Edinburgh. About 5 miles west of the city centre. It took us about twenty minutes by bus.
47 from Lothian road.

Such a lovely village. Sad I missed a pint in the Cramond inn. Hopefully next time.
We were really there for a bit of fresh air and walk along the waterfront.
The beach is situated on the estuary of the River Almond.

We were there when the tide was out. Later in the afternoon we thought about walking over to Cramond island.
There is a causeway but we were apprehensive we would not make it back before high tide. You can to check the tide tables if planning a trip to the island.
After a wander along the beach we had coffee and cake in the Cramond Bistro.
Hopefully we will return to the village soon.
