Another fun weekend away.This time to Northern Ireland.Me and Gee bee went back to his dad`s birthplace.His dad was a typical Ulsterman came over from Northern Ireland to Glasgow to work on the buses.He met Gordon`s mum while working.They lived in Scotstoun. Not far from where I was brought up.
Portadown
Day 1
Early morning rise. We took the direct bus with Glasgow to Cairnryan. From there we caught the Stena line ferry to the port of Belfast.Took about 2 hours.From the port we got a bus right into Belfast city centre.
Stopped there for a couple of beers in the famous Crown bar. Then took the train down to Portadown. Bit of travelling. But we got there.

The Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast.At its height, Belfast had one of the biggest shipyards in the world, employing over 30000 people.
Famous for building the RMS Titanic:-- Launched on 31 May 1911.

At night we went for a meal at the New Mandarin.It was very enjoyable. Been a long day. Good to rest and enjoy a beer or two.

Day 2 Bangor
Seaside resort at the end of the train line.Took around a hour from Portadown. Nice seaside resort with a cute harbour and promenade. We had lunch and a wander round the town.

After our trip to Bangor.We take the train back to Portadown we have night out at Joe Macs.The singer was very good.The beer was good too.
Day 3
Back to Belfast
After breakie we headed into Northern Ireland`s capital.We walked up to the Sandy Row to watch some football and have a few beers.

Day 4 Homeward bound
We took the train from Portadown to Belfast.Then the bus from Europabus Centre to the port. Ferry to Cairnryan. Bus back to Glasgow. Another great weekend away.Great company and tons of fun.
