The Cape point and the Cape of Good hope
Our second day in South Africa. We took an exciting excursion to see what Cape point has to offer.
We were not disappointed.
Since School I have always thought Cape of Good Hope was the most southern tip of Africa and the dividing point between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. The true southernmost point is Cape Agulhas -- Goodhope is the most south Western point. We took off from our base in Camps bay.
Our journey to Capepoint took us through Simon's Town,Kalk bay and Muizenberg. Great scenery on route.

We took the Funicular Railway up to the lighthouse. It took about 3 minutes. The view from the top was wonderful.

Boulders Beach in the southern Cape Peninsula is home to around 3,000 jackass (African) penguins. We really enjoyed our first look at these wee birds in the wild.It was a great stop on our Cape point tour.
