Loch Earn is a freshwater loch in the central highlands of Scotland.
Balquhidder, Lochearnhead, Strathyre and St Fillans are great places to visit. Which are nearby. 
The name is thought to mean Loch of Ireland, and it has been suggested that this might derive from the time when the Gaels were expanding their kingdom eastwards into Pictland.

There is Brown and Rainbow trout in the loch. To fish for them you must have a permit. {camp too}

St Fillan is at the east end of Loch Earn. Special village.Well worth a visit. Really picturesque place with quaint shops.

giving them the strange effect. After a few refreshments in the hotel you might think you are seeing things. They are a great idea.

St Fillans

Lochearnhead boasts a central position within Scotland,  where Perthshire meets Stirlingshire and The Trossachs at the gateway to the Highlands .
