Capri
Another trip during our week in Sorrento. Easy ferry trip from Naples. We had sunshine so very enjoyable.I am writing this webpage many years since our visit.

Capri is an island in the Gulf of Naples just a few nautical miles from the Peninsula of Sorrento, to which it was once attached. Today, Capri is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, beloved for its dramatically craggy coastline, its sea caves tucked into the cliffs, and the glamorous yet informal feel of its island villages.
Marina Grande was once a quiet fishing village. Now a port where everyone arrives and leaves from. Nice place to land. Colourful houses. In the summer it gets really busy. Not the best time to visit.
Forms of transportation available on the island: public bus, taxi, boat and on foot.
The Blue Grotto---Grotta Azzurra is a cave on the coast of Capri. Sunlight, passing through an underwater cavity and shining through the seawater, creates a blue reflection that illuminates the cavern. Small sightseeing boats venture close to the cave. It extends some 50 meters into the cliff at the surface, and is about 150 metres deep, with a sandy bottom.
To be honest the highlight for me was the ferry trip over.
