My Frozen Planet
Over the years we have visited so many different places that you must have wondered why. We have taken flights to places where the sun forgets to come out. Taken what they call a cold cruise. We have shortened Christmas day as we are up the next day to fly north to cross the Artic circle.
When you are sitting on the beach with the sun toasting you, we may be high up in the Alps enjoying a cold beer.
Everyone's idea of a holiday is different. We do enjoy the sunshine, but we also enjoy going to where good weather is a bonus.

We had the pleasure of taking an adventure cruise.
Which is nicknamed a cold cruise. We went to Alaska and loved every minute. We sailed to Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway,Tracy Arm and the Inside Passage. Travelling
through the iceberg field was amazing.
Whale watching was a thrill too. You wait and wait. Then you see the air spout high in the sky.

Tromso
Another brilliant trip. Early boxing day 2022 we flew to Norway. Changing aircraft at Oslo. Then we flew over the Artic circle to the city of Tromso. On arrival I slipped on my backside coming of the bus from the Airport. Good start to a new winter adventure.
The highlight was probably the Husky sledge ride. Great fun with lovely dogs. The city its self is good. Plenty of places to eat and drink. We did see the Northern lights but not at its best.

We went to Iceland January 2023
This time we visited the Southern side of the Island. Glaciers,waterfalls and snowcapped mountains. Freeezin but amazing. As if your on the white side of the moon. Active volcanos and red-hot geysers. We had no joy when searching here for the Northern lights.

Warsaw was our first winter venture into Eastern Europe. Cold but exciting. Stayed at a cheap hotel which had caviar on the breakfast menu. We walked the royal route. Great to see the locals with there fur coats on. Looking cold. Bet they were warmer than us.
Estonia is another Eastern European gem. In the winter it's cold very cold. We were out in minus 23 degrees but we were well wrapped up.
Tallinn is the capital. Very picturesque. Especially in Winter.

The Alps
Snow-sure mountains. Assessable by cable car for us tourists.
Eiger express is my favourite lift. The Eiger Express is a remarkable tricable gondola ride that connects Grindelwald Switzerland
with the top of the Jungfraujoch. Even in July you can enjoy the Jungfrau snow region. You are on the “Top of Europe,”
Zermatt is the place to go. Take the train up the mountains for amazing views over the whole Alps mountain range. The pyramid shaped Matterhorn is the star of the show. Most photographed mountain on Earth.
