Working Digital Sept 24 2014
Afternoon trip down to Kilmarnock to talk at the Working Digital conference. This conference was based at the the Park Hotel. Which is right next to Rugby Park [Kilmarnock Football club].
When I was first asked to speak at Working Digital I thought not really my scene. Then I thought about it I decided to accept the chance to explain how the world of travel has change during the Internet era.
The conference was run Gary Ennis and Colin Kelly from nsdesign . I first met Gary at an internet course in Paisley. They are very good at what they do.
Gary encouraged everyone to leave their mobiles on and update their social media when required . This was a first for me. Great way of getting updates out there.
First up was Andy Gray. He is the Managing Director and co-founder of Emu Bands. Followed by Ada Galloway who is Transcribe UK’s Managing Director. I was third up and talked for about 15 minutes.
Explained how travel had changed so much since the internet had been born. Gone are the days of waiting weeks for a letter to arrive to confirm a booking. More and more people are confident enough to book their travel arrangements via their mobile phone .
Picture
Everyone one was to forward a Digital tip --
Mine was-- text flight details, hotel name, etc. to your own phone.
Spent a few minutes explaining all about #Scotlandhour.
It was not the most comfortable time I have ever had but I got there and hopefully got my points over to the large crowd.
