November 2021 Glasgow hosted Cop26.
COP stands for Conference of the Parties. The Convention took place in my hometown-- right on the banks of the River Clyde.
At the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre and across the river at the Science centre.
The whole event was attended by all countries that have signed the Climate Change (UNFCCC) - a treaty agreed in 1994

The 2021 meeting was the 26th time, that is why it's called COP26.
Hopefully- This summit will make great progress in tackling climate change and also help Glasgow`s tourism.
This could be the last chance to save our planet for future generations.
Burning fossil fuels like coal and oil puts more carbon dioxide into our atmosphere. Too much of these greenhouse gases can cause the Earth's atmosphere to trap more and more heat. This causes Earth to warm up.

China and Russia decide not to come but most other countries were represented.Sadly the Queen was not fit enough but Prince Charles was there and William and Kate arrived by train.
970 binmen, lorry drivers and street cleaners were on strike for better pay but rail workers cancelled their action.

Greenpeace boat Rainbow Warrior sailed up the River Clyde.Docked in King George v docks for a day then sailed back down the river.

We sat in reclined seats and watch our planet from outer space.
Learning about the Solar System. Learning why we are on the only planet with life.
Brilliant film but better was still to come.

Don`t want to spoil this nature programme for you but it`s bloody brilliant.The stars are- the biggest fish in the world and a well known TV star.
We got to watch the exclusive screening of the Sky nature show--- Shark with Steve Backshall. There are three episodes. If the first is anything to go by--It going to be superb.
We saw the world of sharks and how they help keep our oceans and planet healthy. The screening was followed by a Q&A with Steve Backshall. He is Mr Shark and had some cool stories to tell.

Left the best till Last. My cousin came over from Moscow.First time I had seen him since my visit over to the Russian Capital in 2008.
I also met up with my cousin Christine .I had not seen her for 40 years.
Spent a brill night . Great stories from the past.Hope is not too long till to meet up again.
