The village is on the shores of the beautiful Loch Broom and is one of the main tourist spots in the Wester Ross.There is a regular ferry service over to Stornoway in the Western Isles. Ullapool was founded in 1788 as a herring port by the British Fisheries Society. We visited during our 2011 Scottish Road trip.
