Wales Roadtrip Diary 2018
Day1
Left home in Clydebank around 9.30.After a brief stop for fuel we are off. Long journey to our first over night stop in Chirk. So we had to stop a couple of times to stretch our legs and have food and drink.
My friend Geebo is driving and Mrs B is here on advisory position.I am charge of photo stops.

100 mph --Gee bee our crazy driver
We stopped at Pooley bridge for lunch. lovely wee town.Especially when you get to sample free glasses of Gin. Another brief stop in the town of Gresford.
Finally we arrive in the Welch town of Chirk.

The aqueduct was designed by civil engineer Thomas Telford] for the Ellesmere Canal.
Day2
We stayed at the Hand hotel.Which I would advise you not to stay here.We had a meal and a few drinks in the hotel and then walked along to the Strathon pub.
That night I was very sick.Who know what caused that but I think a bad pint at the bar. To round it off our bathroom was flooded. We had to call for assistance from the nightshift manager.
It was agreed that we would get our money refunded.
In the morning we walk along the Ellesmere Canal.
Here you can walk between England and Wales.

We have a pleasant drive to Tenby. We stopped by the river Wye for lunch and Llandovery for coffee.
Finally we arrive in Tenby.
We stayed in the Hotel Panorama for 5 nights.
Right on the promenade.With great views out to sea.
In town we have dinner at the Normandie
A few drinks in the Tavern bar. Which we used as our local.

Up early for breakie and a lovely walk along the sandy beach.
Today It`s St Davids but my highlight was Barafundle Bay. Beautiful-Stunning. You can see why it is rated one of the best in UK. Here we had a coffee in the boathouse. Next up is Pembroke. Great castle.

St Davids is a lovely little town.We went to the Bishops for lunch.Mrs B enjoyed a ice cream out of the chocolate shop.Then we make our way home.

Day4
We skipped Cardigan because of struggle for parking. Drive on to Newport Boat club on the
St Georges channel.Lovely lady tell us to go to Lower Fishguard for lunch.She was spot on.What a lovely setting.We have scones and jam at the Cafe on the Quay. We head back to Tenby.
At night we have dinner at the Buccaneer Inn.

This morning we all have pancakes for breakfast to celebrate the 4th of July.In the morning me and mrs B take a seasafari out to the bird sanctuary of St Margrets. The highlight today was Sanderfoot.
Which is a lovely seaside resort. Good beach.
Gently sloping sands There are shops and cafes along the beach front.
At night we have dinner in the Hope and Anchor
Can`t fault it. Then over to the Griffin for a few drinks.

Day6 ---Our last day based in Tenby.We have a lovely drive to Oxwich. We have lunch in the bay hotel.
Great beach-Mrs B dipped her toes in the cold water.
At night we eat in the Coach and Horses.We all had the lamb shank. Which was amazing.

Day7 To split the journey home we stay the night at the Travel Lodge.On route we visit the valleys.
Had lunch in Porth.

Day 8 Homeward bound. We stop at Gretna
Mrs B went shopping and we went to the pub.
