The exhibition tells how the war changes from
pride,optimism and adventure to death,hardship
and realism. 1914 the British said the war would be over by Christmas. The Germans said before the last leaf of Autumn fell.

Commemorating 100 Years since WWI
Nursing was the major contribution made by women – by 1918, more than 17,000 nurses had served close to the trenches, in military hospitals and in the UK.
Above Frank Brangwyn produced a set of lithographic prints giving you an idea of the path a soldier took before he was blinded on the battlefield. They were made to raise money for St Dunstan’s Hostel for Blind Soldiers and Sailors.
Brushes with War is on till 6th January.

After the Exhibition at the Art Galleries I wandered through the park. See what I could capture. It was drying up and the sun was peeking it`s head out. Here are some images from my stroll.
Every time I pass the River Kelvin at Partick I would have a look for the Kingfisher. There is a plaque telling you there are some by the river. Finally got a sighting yesterday. Sad to say he would not turn around.
