Yesterday`s roadtrip was to Bridge of Orchy. The weather was not at it`s best but we still enjoyed our day out. We started with lunch in the hotel--.Haggis and neeps were fab. After lunch we had a walk round the village and we took the back road to follow the River orchy. The images are best I could get in the rain.
The bridge gave the village its name. From it the old road carries on round the western end of Loch Tulla to Forest Lodge.
The West Highland Way runs directly upslope of Bridge of Orchy Station platform but it's worth having a stroll around the hamlet before you set off.

Beinn Dorain and Beinn an Dothaidh. These two Munros, at 3,524ft and 3,267ft respectively, tower over the village and lie immediately to its east.
Bailey Bridge across the River Orchy
The road leaves the B8074 to cross the River Orchy on the Bailey Bridge. I have taken many pictures from this bridge. The Bailey bridge is a type of portable, pre-fabricated, truss bridge. It was developed by the British during World War II.
