Fort Augustus
Another Sunday-- another great place for a pit stop.
The village is at the southern end of Loch Ness.
We were fortunate to see the gates of the Caledonian Canal open to let lots of yachts enter. All shapes and sizes.
Fort Augustus is named after William Augustus.
He was the famous Duke of Cumberland. The commander of the government troops at the Battle of Cullodon in 1746.

During our Dingwall road trip we stopped for lunch. We returned to the village 2021.Just for one night. On route to Skye. Sadly no snaps of the Loch Ness monster.
We returned 2nd July 2021-During Covid rules but still had a great time. Stayed the night and enjoyed Fish and Chips in the lock inn.
