The Whangie is one of my favourite Sunday walks. Not far from my home in Clydebank. We drive along the Stockiemuir road passing the Carbeth inn to the Queens view car park. The walk starts here.
The hill with great views is in the Kilpatrick Hills, just outside the Loch Lomond National Park. It takes about a hour to get to the top and along to the Whangie.
The views out to Loch Lomond are suberb.

The Whangie is a strange group of rocks. It is about 300ft long by about 50ft high. It`s in the north of the Kilpatricks.
Particular interest to geologists and casual walkers alike.
The Whangie used to be very popular with rock climbers, offering a variety of short climbs.
