Gullfoss waterfall
My favourite waterfall in Iceland.It was part of our Golden Circle tour.
It is part of the river Hvita.The river flows south.
In Icelandic, Gullfoss means Golden Waterfall. On a sunny day the water looks golden-brown.

The gorge was formed by a flash waters that forced their way through the cracks in the basalt lava layers. On average the water flow is around 110 m3/s. But when these floods happen it can go up to 2000 m3/s

There is a viewing platform.You can watch the spectacular waterfall cascade down.Please put it on your must see list while in Iceland.
