During our July 2021 visit to the Scottish island of Skye we had the pleasure of visiting the island of Raasay. Short drive from Portree you come to the village of Sconser.From here you take the Ferry.

Raasay (Ratharsair in Gaelic) means Isle of the Roe Deer.
The ferry is called MV Hallaig. It can carry 23 cars.So most cars can make it on.You must be there 15 mins before the journey starts.Tickets must buy your tickets on board. Call 0800 0665000 for info.
The views over to the Cullins is wonderful.What a setting.
We travelled all over the island.Be warned- very rocky roads.One track roads.
There is a Distillery.Which is very popular.Sad to say some people only visit there.

We took in the whole of the Island.There is a coffee hut but we had the pleasure of a picnic.
