St Lucia
We arrived at the port and capital Castries. We only had a day to see the island. So we took a tour to see as much as possible.
We also had a few hours to explore Castries.
This horseshoe-shaped bay is tucked away in the north-west corner of the island. A pristine white-sand beach sweeps the length of its coast, surrounded by tropical rainforest and mountains soaring out of the sea. In the middle, there’s a man-made lagoon and modern marina full of shops, bars and upmarket restaurants. You’ve got both stunning tropical scenery and an exciting entertainment hub here.

Reduit Beach overlooks Rodney Bay in the southwestern outskirts of Gros Islet, in the northern half of St. Lucia. Stunning beach.
When we arrived at Rodney bay we were met by two gentlemen offering us sunbeds.20dollars for the north end of the beach and 10 dollars for the south. For the 20 bucks you got no traders. It was nicer beach and a cool bar.
For the ten you got a small guy trying to make a living. We took the 10 dollar option. The traders were polite and done us no harm.
We used the bar and could walk where we liked.
We got one guy who pointed out our sun burn and offered to cure the problem. No thanks but nice asking. lol

Saint Lucia is the only country in the world named after a woman.
Christopher Columbus is said to give the island its name.

The next time I will take a boat out to see the Piton mountains.
Castries
A fun town. Many people are frightened to venture into the towns on their own. I dodged the Domician republic because of reports I had heard. Every other port we explored but always keep your belongings safe. The markets were fun. The owners are not too pushy.

Saint Lucia is a sovereign island country in the West Indies in the eastern Caribbean Sea on the boundary with the Atlantic Ocean.
We admired murals painted by a local artists inside the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and relaxed in Derek Walcott Square before going for a drink in the local cafe. People in there were very friendly. I felt like I was in the Carribean.
