is 1000 km away from mainland Spain and about 125 km from the African coast.
Arrecife is the capital. That`s where we docked during our 2022 Canary Island`s cruise. Never seen much of the town as we took a bus down to the resort of Playa Blanca.

On route we passed through spectacular volcanic landscape. From our window we looked out to moonlike fields. Certainly made our journey go fast. The whole journey took just under a hour.
Playa Blanca is situated at southern most point of the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. It is an ideal destination for those looking for a relaxed atmosphere and great beaches. Most of the buildings are whitewashed. Very picturesque.
We liked it. Nice front with loads of places to eat and drink. Lovely sandy beaches too.
Mrs B enjoyed a dip in the water.
Playa Blanca`s Playa Flamingo is a 200m stretch of honey-coloured sand, shaded by a palm-lined promenade and lapped by calm turquoise water.
