Bydgoszcz is located in northern Poland, on the Brda and Vistula rivers. It has a population of around 360 000. Bydgoszcz is considered as a safe city and we really enjoyed our stay there.
Our base was the Mercure Bydgoszcz Sepia . Nice hotel with very friendly staff.
Rooftop Terrace was cool with great views across the city. You can have a refreshment there during
sunny days.

The city presents varied architecture which wasn't badly damaged by the World War II.
Day 1 of our visit to the city we took the train to Gdansk. The famous ship building city.
Bydgoszcz's main station is called Bydgoszcz Główna (Bydgoszcz Main) and lies approx. 1.5 kilometre from the main street of the city. We took the number 5 tram. Below link to our day out.

The Main Square. We enjoyed a night in the Amsterdam bar. Also nice to sit and relax in one of the outside cafe. Below are some of our party shots.
Please watch when crossing roads. Some drivers drive way too fast in city centre or other parts and will pull off mad manoeuvres just when you thought it was safe to cross the streets.
Above the sculpture "Man crossing the river" . Everyone stops to photograph this guy.
In Gdanska Street stop and have a look at the Marian Rajewski Statue. He was a Polish mathematician who solved the plug board-equipped Enigma, the main cipher device used by Germany. Worth taking a photo!
