During our Carribean cruise our ship docked at La Romana. A port on the island of Dominican Republic.
I had been well warned how dangerous the island could be and that most people go to an all-inclusive resort.
We had to go off the cruise ship so we decided to take the fun
Chu-Chu train. I love train adventures but not quite the Glacier express.

We had a police guard at the front and the back. Not as fun as we thought but we did see the town.The locals seemed friendly and some even waved.
We spoke to many people who left on excursions and had a great time.
Dominican Republic has some beautiful beaches.

After the tour we went to the cruise port. One of the best I have been to. It had the usual Duty Free and souvenir shop. There was also a bar,pool and a man made beach.
The bar played Calypso music. Carribean dancers added to the atmosphere.
Good day was had by all.
