I was invited along to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery to see the opening night of Dippy the Diplodocus. Very interesting but I want to tell you all about another special thing.
While everyone was in the main hall talking about the new attraction.I took a walk up stairs to have a wander round. It was strange to walk alone through the corridors of the Art Gallery.
Looking at the masters.Wonderful art by my self. Great experience.
There is an amazing collection of French 19th century paintings includes works by Monet, Gauguin and Renoir. Further highlights are Rembrandt’s ‘Man in Armour’, ‘Christ and the Adulteress’ by Titian and Salvador Dali’s ‘Christ of St John of the Cross’. Portrait of Alexander Reid (1854-1928).A Van Gogh masterpiece.
How lucky the people of Glasgow are to have so much World famous art on their doorstep.
Free to see when ever you feel like.
Looking over the balcony I saw hundreds of eyes staring at you.Floating Heads by Sophie Cave.Strange but it works. Next i look at the City of Glasgow Squadron Spitfire LA198 Flying hanging from the museum ceiling.
My night tour ended up here.I walk down stairs and joining in with the Dippy Celebrations.
Did you know Kevingrove was know as the West end park.
