Balmaha is one of our favourite easy days out. Walk along the shore of Loch Lomond or hike up the Conic Hill ---all good fun. What about taking the boat out to one of the many islands.

The Oak Tree Inn opened in 1997 by Sandy and Lucy Fraser. It has turned into a family business...
Balmaha boatyard is in operation from the jetty. MacFarlane family have for many years operated a regular ferry route to the islands of Loch Lomond. I enjoyed a trip to beautiful Inchcailloch.

If you take the easier path along the lochside you will be able to
walk and enjoy the many beaches. The West highland way takes a higher path. Balmaha is a great starting point for walkers.

Last night we had a super time at the Oaktree in Balmaha. We met up with friends we had met while in South Africa. Rita and Steve travelled with us across the Garden route. They are travelling round Scotland in a cool campervan. Really enjoyed our night and look forward to meeting again soon. The image is from our drive towards Drymen.
