Trossachs
Another one of my favourite day`s out. This time the Trossachs will be without it`s neighbour-Loch Lomond.
Sir Walter Scott's and Rob Roy Mac Gregor . It is said they made the Trossachs famous. To be honest the scenery talks for it`s self.
It`s a valley in central Scotland, between Loch Achray
and Loch Katrine.T he area extending northwards from Loch Ard and Aberfoyle to Lochs Katrine, Achray, and Venachar.

During Victorian times, the famous writer Sir Walter Scott wrote about this dashing and chivalrous outlaw --Rob Roy MacGregor. Scott was born in the Old Town of Edinburgh in 1771.
He died on 21st September 1832 at Abbotsford.
Scott wrote more than 20 novels in total, including Rob Roy and Ivanhoe. In addition he had 13 books of poetry, 2 short story collections and 20 works of non-fiction published, together with 5 plays.

Rob Roy was born at Glengyle 1671 ,< head of Loch Katrine> and died on 28 December 1734 in Balquhidder. In Victorian times, people were enthralled by the novels of Sir Walter Scott, who portrayed a man called Rob Roy in his work… a dashing and chivalrous outlaw. Truth was he made his cash from farmers by protecting their cattle from thief's.He ended up a cattle thief himself.
