Day1
We arrived around tea time- local time. We were a bit shattered after the long flight and time difference but we decide to stay out as late as possible. First stop Hard Rock hotel for a bite to eat. Next we decide to take a boat trip onto Lake Michigan. This was a wonderful way to see the cities skyline.

After a hearty breakfast we walked a few blocks to see where about`s Union Station is.
Here we checked if our tickets were ok for our journey in two days time. After a brief stop to look at this amazing train station we decide to visit the Willis Tower.

Willis Tower used to be called Sears Tower. Lots of people often still call it that. This skyscraper is 103 stories tall. The observation skydeck on the 103rd floor gives you unobstructed views of the city.A must when visiting the city.
For lunch we visit the famous Billy Goat Tavern. Great atmosphere and not bad hamburger.
John Hancock Center is another well-known Chicago Skyscraper. 12th tallest building in the world has a observation deck. So we thought you can`t do the Willis without visiting the Hancock. This time we decide to go to the bar at the Signature Room on the 95th Floor.
We thought that would save us a few bucks but the price of the drinks was not cheap.
Wonderful views. You will have wait a while in line. As the steward for a table at the window.

It was the 4th of July so the city turned blue, red and white. 9.30 Fireworks
