Ardlui Hotel was built in the early 1800’s . First opened as a hotel in 1886, the Hotel is at the northern end of Loch Lomond. Another one of our favourite stopping point on the shores of the Loch. If there is clear skies it is great to stop here at Dusk. Great for taking photographs.
After Loch Lomond we drive past the famous Drovers. The Drovers Inn is in Inverarnan. Famed for having a ghost in room 6. A little girl who drowned in the burn, and was placed in the bed in one of the rooms. People often wake up and feel a cold body next to them in their bed.
Next past the entrance of the Falls of Falloch. Then it`s on Crainlarich.
It is a small village located just off the famous West Highland Way, and at the foot of spectacular mountains like Ben More, Cruach Ardrain and An Caisteal. It sits roughly half way between Glasgow and Fort William. There is now a byepass which must affect the village`s trade. The famous West Highland line stops here.
Next is the small village of Tydrum. It`s a great stopping place for bikers and tourists. The famous Green Welly is here.
We stop for something to eat here.
We have a roll and bacon at the Real Food cafe.
The road splits here, One to Oban.We take the Fort William route. The scenery is stunning here as start to climb.
After about ten minutes drive we reach our final destination. Bridge of Orchy.
Here we change into our walking boots and join the West Highland Way.
The path is behind the famous Bridge.

The route we take is a easy walk of three miles there and three miles back. You can take the road on the way back to Bridge of Orchy for a change of scenery.
An inn has been here over three hundred years. Th food is good and there is a good buzz from the walkers.Visiting as a day on the WHW. We have stopped here many times. Inveroran Hotel
