Loch Katrine has been the primary water reservoir for much of the city of Glasgow and its surrounding areas since 1859.
It is the fictional setting of Sir Walter Scott's poem The Lady of the Lake.

First day out of the new year. The weather was bad but we still had an enjoyable walk along the east shore. We walked as far as Brenachoile point. Lovely meal in the Forth inn Aberfoyle.

Duke's Pass is a pass on the A 821 between Aberfoyle and Brig o' Turk It climbs to a height of 240 metres above sea level. The name only appears on modern Ordnance Survey maps, but is in common use locally.
