Balmaha and Rowerdennan
Today we were a bit unlucky with the weather.Dull but dry.
We go to the east shore of Loch Lomond often. It is less populated.
Balmaha,Rowerdennan and Inversnaid are the main settlements.
Balmaha and Rowerdennan are joined by road but Inversnaid is further north.You have to go to Aberfoyle to get there. Now that`s a great roadtrip. Which you can see on another webpage.

We enjoyed lunch in the Oaktree inn Balmaha. The new Covid rules really worked well.The food as always was super. I had the Haggis and potatoes. Perfect.We really enjoy the atmosphere of the Oaktree.
After our hearty lunch we decided to walk to Milarrochy Bay. Normally we take the shore path but today we took the West Highland Way.Which is a steeper path. Short part of the Way but the views are good.
Back down to shore level.Walk is straight forward now.You can stop at a couple of small beaches to admire the view. My images don`t really give you the grandeur of Loch Lomond. You can`t get a feel of the wind coming of the water.The mountains or the islands that add to this beautiful setting.
Watch you don`t get your feet wet crossing the stream just before you get to the lovely Milarrochy bay.

Milarrochy bay has toilet facility's and great place for watersport enthusiasts.Nice beach and lots of places to places to picnic.
We take the shore path back to Balmaha. In the carpark we noticed many cars with parking tickets for not parking in the proper places. Beware of the big yellow stickers.

We drive along to Rowerdennan hotel for a drink. This is the start for another great walk.Ben Lomond. In the Hotel garden you get great views of the mountain. Another great day out beside Loch Lomond.

Balmaha today --Lovely lunch and walk along the shores of Loch Lomond. Weather was not the best but still enjoyed the walk.
