Staycation holiday.July 2021. Dunvegan is in the Northern Western side of the island. We had to fight of the Midgies at the entrance of the castle but it was worth hassle.

Stronghold of the Clan MacLeod
The castle has been continuously occupied by the MacLeod family for over 800 years.The current castle structure dates to around 1266.
The public rooms in the castle
Throughout the castle, you will find portraits of members of the MacLeod Clan.

While in Dunvegan you must have a stroll round the Walled Gardens.
It has a beautiful herbaceous borders and it`s Victorian style Glasshouse.
The gardens were laid out in the 18th century and there is a lovely waterfall.
