Travel photography 2016
There is no way I can call myself a photographer. I may own this website and I am totally hooked on taking images. These images are my memories. Like you-- I love taking pics of my family and friends and special places.
At the moment I muck about with auto and set formats. This year I was in Alaska and could only shoot the wonderful whales in video. No stills. That is going to change.
2017 is the year I am going to learn and go up a gear.
Travel photography can either be created by professionals or amateurs. We all take images of our holidays or special trips. Slowly I am learning about aperture,shutter speed and iso.
Aperture is an adjustment of the lens opening which controls the amount of light passing through the lens.
Shutter speed is an adjustment of the speed to control the amount of time during which the imaging is exposed to light for each exposure. The slower shutter speeds allow for long exposure shots that are used to photograph images in very low light, including the images of the night sky.
ISO measures the sensitivity of the image sensor. The same principles apply as in film photography – the lower the number the less sensitive your camera is to light and the finer the grain.

We might not get our photo`s in National Geographic Magazine but we can enjoy them for years and years.
Travel photography, unlike fashion, product, or wedding photography, is still an underestimated and relatively less monetized even though the challenges faced by travel photographers are lot greater than some - where the light and other shooting conditions may be controllable.
So 2017 is going to be the year to enjoy our camera s more.
