Finally I get a chance to spend some time in Dumfries. Have been a few times to football matches at Palmerston park.The home of Queen of the South.
Never to spend time in the town.Sadly to say the weather was not at it`s best.

Our weekend started and finished at Buchanan bus station in Glasgow.
Modern Stagecoach bus was very comfortable.As always great fun going but bit boring on return.Stopping and starting in heavy traffic.

It was lunch time when we arrived so we went straight to Moon and Stars Cafe on the High Street. We had the small all day Breakfast- which was really good.
We could not eat too much as we had dinner booked at our hotel.

We really enjoyed watching a Heron searching the River Nith for it`s dinner.
Scotland`s most famous poet died in the town in 1796.Lot`s of people only think of Ayrshire when talking about Robert Burns.There are wrong. Rabbie spent hIs latter years in Dumfries. Enjoying a lot of his time in the Globe in and Hole in the Wall.Bars in the town centre.
