Early morning start for our visit to the Greek island of Mykonos.I would have loved to have stayed longer but we only had a day.I had no idea what to expect.
I had heard about the white washed buildings. As we walk along the road into the main town [Mykonos Town/Chora]I think to myself what a beautiful island.
The streets on the island are narrow. The houses have flat roofs. You see locals hanging out their balconies chatting to their neighbours. Like going back in time.
We picked the bar Zobra to have a bite to eat and a few drinks. We didn't go to Paradise.Where the younger generation enjoy the party atmosphere. “Ibiza of Greece”
We loved our walk around the whitewashed maze of Mykonos Town.My kind of town and the weather was perfect.
In the main town there is mixture of cool bars and great restaurants. They are mainly on the waterfront.
Mykonos' nickname is The island of the winds.Maybe the highlight for us amateur photographers are the stunning windmills.
Peter the Pelican of Mykonos has become the mascot of the island. We spotted Peter in a waterside bar in the main town.He was with his owner
Alevkantra.
Alevkantra.
What a picturesque island.Would love to return some day.
