Great trip north to the seaside resort of Lossiemouth.The town has two stunning beaches. The east beach is beside the town centre and the West is near the golf course.The town is located on the northerly point of the south coast of the Moray Firth, at the mouth of the River Lossie. To the west of the town is the Royal Air Force base,[ RAF Lossiemouth] and the Silver Sands holiday park.

Lossiemouth is heavily dependent on the Royal Air Force station for employment and it`s input in to the Moray economy.There is train station in the town. The nearest station is at Elgin and offers services to Inverness and Aberdeen. The former Railway line to Elgin was closed in 1964. There is a frequent bus service from Lossiemouth to Elgin. There is also a cycle path that runs between the towns.
Enjoyed a few beers in the bar.The bar manager told us all stories about the ghosts of the hotel. Our room had a fab view over the golf course to the West beach.
We had our evening dinner in the The Clifton Hotel.Which was excellent.Clifton is in the town not far from the East beach.

The dunes in Lossie's East Beach were made using old railway carriages to protect the seatown from heavy seas.

Lossiemouth’s most famous resident was Ramsay MacDonald the first Labour Prime Minister.
Windswept beer is brewed in Lossiemouth. Brewing started in Nov 2012.The beer has already received many awards in 2013 --Best New Brewery.
The West beach is about 3 miles long passes the caravans of the silver sands holiday park and the Covesea Lighthouse.
The Moray Golf Club is considered to be one of the finest links courses in Scotland. Links are courses beside the sea.
