Giraffes don’t drink much water. This is because they get most of their water from their leafy meals, and only need to drink once every few days.
When we were in South Africa we had the pleasure of taking our first safari. On return I dedicated a webpage to tell you all about the plight of the cheetahs in the wild today. Sad to say only around 6000 – 7000 adult cheetah still alive in the world.
Today I would like to tell you all about another animal`s decline.
It's being called the Silent extinction.Nothing to do with the nature of this animal but the way the world is ignoring the problem.
Giraffe numbers have declined 30 percent in the last thirty years.Their problems are hunting, habitat loss, snares and trade of body parts.
The world has to be aware Giraffe population is falling fast. We need to protect these guys with lanky legs and eyelashes.
The images are from our visit to Amakhala National Park.
