Big thanks to Eric and Liz for driving us round the island. They got us to places we would never have reached. The grand total of 598miles. Superb
We stayed at the Kissos Hotel.Which was ok for a base for our adventures round the island. Friendly staff.Breakfast was fine. General==Not bad
Saturday night
We enjoyed dinner in the Greek restaurant San Marino. As you can see below we tried some Greek dancing.
Really enjoyed the experience --Maybe not the embarrassment. Mrs B even showed us some highland dancing.

We ate well in Cyprus. Here are two of my favorite dishes.
Kleftiko
Meat that is cooked in the oven for many hours. It`s flavoured with bay leaves, oregano and red wine.
It gets its name from the word “stolen”, as historically people would steal meat and bury it to be slow-cooked in covered holes in the ground, so that no smoke would give away the location of the thieves.

Stifado
Another hearty meat dish that’s a favourite in Cyprus is the moist stifado, prepared with onions and drenched in red wine. Beef is usually cooked alongside cinnamon sticks and cloves that give it a sweet kick.

The houses in the village are close to each other. The highlights to me were --Cleanness of the streets, the wonderful picturesque yards and all the varieties of flowers and greenery.Great wee place to visit.
After Arsos we drove north to the Troodos mountains. What a surprise.Snow on the sunshine Island. Something we didn`t expect. The Mount Olympus road ends at the Sun Valley Cafe.We had lunch here.
Troodos is the largest mountain range in Cyprus.

Green Valley Water Falls
We came across the falls by chance. Paid the 5euro`s and walked along a slippy path. There were signs all along the way.Sad to say I was disappointed. The waterfall itself is lovely but it stops there.

Tuesday
Today we visited the Tomb of Kings
They are within Kato Paphos Archaeological Park, you can wander into an underground maze of tomb chambers that date back to the fourth century BC.
Despite its name, no kings were buried here.

Wednesday
Limassol
Limassol is the second largest city of Cyprus with a population of about 180,000. The city of Limassol grew after the Turkish invasion in 1974. Today the city is a significant touristic centre.
We enjoyed the promenade walk. Nice views, plenty of people enjoying themselves. Several places to stop for a drink. My favourite part of the town.

Thursday
We drove to Aphrodite’s Rock. People believed she emerged from. The story of how Aphrodite came to be here is very much a part of the city`s past.
In the afternoon we ended up in the Pit stop bar in Paphos for a few beers. The ladies went shopping at the impressive Kings Avenue Mall.

Lovely walk along the nice sandy beach.
In the afternoon me and Eric had a couple of beers with the locals.Got the feeling we were charged tourist prices. The girls went shopping down at the harbour.
At night we return to our favourite place to eat on Paphos. The San Marino.
