Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) our travels have been limited. Mostly in our local area. I have added this diary to remind you how the world changed in 2020 forever.
Hopefully things will work out fine.
I am just pleased that we are alive and well.

Well finally it`s time to close my Covid Diary. The Mask rule in Scotland has closed. Over the last few weeks less people have been following the rules. The numbers have fallen. Very few are in Hospital. Good news
Sad to say it. These sad times have affected so many people.

Well more bad news.My son has just caught Corona for the second time.He has had the two jags but not the booster. He feels like he has had the flu.Just feeling rotten.
A new type of coronavirus has been found that scientists say is of "great concern".The Omicron variant worries experts because it is very different to the types of Covid current vaccines are designed to fight.

Still no foreign travel but still had a wonderful time away. This time we ventured over to the island of Islay. Port Ellen was our base. Walking along the Singing sands was the highlight.
Oct 2021 Just when I thought I had finishing updating my diary.
My wife and son had the two jag but still got this terrible illness.
Mrs B was out for the first time in two weeks.Feeling a bit better after her bout of the Coronavirus. Quarantine is over but
Still not 100 percent.Awaiting taste and smell to return.
I got tested but was lucky to miss the illness. We are double jaggers. So could have been a lot worse.
Hopefully it wont be long till Mrs B venture further afield.
Today we drove to Rhu. Just along from Helensburgh. We walked along the beach to the lighthouse.Great views up the Gareloch and the beautiful Arrocher Alps mountain range.
That was long enough for the recovering Mrs B.

Thursday 7th May
Down to Old Kilpatrick for time in the Saltings.
The Saltings is located under the Erskine Bridge and runs parallel with the River Clyde and the Forth and Clyde Canal. It is noted for its wetland habitats. We were unlucky not to see much wildlife. We walked as far as Bowling and walked home.
Every Thursday everyone comes out of their home to show appreciation of NHS. Clapping-Pot banging and fireworks.

Today`s lockdown walk. We are up the Kilpatrick hills. Our local walk is always in the Clydebank area. We always try to keep away from the general public. We find it safer for us and other people-- if we are on our own.
If we do meet anyone on our walks we keep the 2metre distance rule.
Today we walked from The Jaw to Greenside. Lunch was super.Right on top of a hill looking over the whole of the Kilpatrick hills,Down the River Clyde and great views over to Ben Lomond. One of our best walks during lock down.

Saturday 2nd May
to the Greenside reservoir. Kilpatrick hills are very accessible from our home in Clydebank.
Our walk started on Cochno road.
We took the Farm road.
We found it strange that we didn't see a single plane all day.
If you look over the River Clyde you can see the airport.
The walk up was very pleasant. The yellow plant Broome is seen at this time of the year. Very special.
We were not disappointed when we arrived at the reservoir.
We walk to the trig point of Cochno hill. left to right.
Below the Erskine Bridge crossing the River Clyde. We saw down the river to Greenock. Even seen the Gareloch in the distance.
As we turn round a bit we see the Humphrey Reservoir. Next up is the Duncombe. The highest point the Kilpatrick hills. In the distance is the snow-capped Ben Lomond. As we walk for a short while we are back above the Greenside. By now it is very busy down at the water. We walk passed and down the road to the start point of our walk.
Maybe the highlight of our time trip.

1st May
So many bad things going on in the world. So much sadness.
In years to come our Grandchildren will tell their grand kids about how things were during the Coronavirus.
Today my company called me and told me I was staying on furlough.
Furlough is a word no one had ever heard off until this terrible illness arrived.Millions of workers in the UK have been furloughed. Furloughed workers are staff who are no longer able to go to work because their places of employment have been forced to close due to the pandemic.
At first it was a kind of a holiday
After three weeks stuck in the house bar a short walk I am going crazy. Social distance has to be adhered to. Only able to go shopping once a day.
As a traveller -Flights cancelled-Hotels cancelled No fun.
We are making the best of it.
Tough-- so many people are fighting for their lives and I am rabbiting about being bored.
The world will never be the same after these sad times but hopefully the lucky ones can get back to earning a living again.

15TH April Cleddens Road Walk
Another walk during these tragic times. We are only out for a short while so we try to make the most of it.
This time we walked along the boulevard. Just passed the Titan hotel. We turned left onto the farm road. Great to be outside in the sunshine and tons of fresh air. At the end of the road, we join Cleddans road. We are at the back of the Hardgate Golf course.
We watch deer run across the course. We walk for a wee while.
Got a bit of a fright when a horse stuck its head over a hedge.
After a short time, we return the same route. Almost home we watched heron searching for dinner.

Even the Easter bunny is Social distancing
Before this terrible illness took over we gave the Grandkids their Easter eggs. Which were scoffed last Sunday. We have been video calling them on What`s app but it`s not the same. At lunch today I looked out the window and saw Garry and Yvonne and the kids. They went to the fence next to us and we opened up the door and saw the grandkids for the first time since Lockdown. Superb feeling. Our Son Andrew had not seen the kids to hand over his Easter presents. He had to throw them over the hedge to the kids. Rather crazy seeling a rabbit flying through the air. Hope my pictures show how pleased we were to see FIVE wanes.

The World is almost in lock down. Coronavirus has landed. Everyone's plans must change. The Killer virus has swept around the world.
Everyone's life has to change.
We have decided to calm our travels down. Our last road trip during the crisis took us to Glencoe. One of Scotland's world famous tourist area.
During our day we enjoyed a picnic with the practice of Social distancing. This means making sure there's enough space between people who are well and those who might not be well.
Below are a few images from our trip to Glencoe.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) 7th of March 2020
When we arrived in Venice we were tested for the virus but not when we left. The illness was/is big news.
With people all over the world contracting and even some passing away from it.Sadly Italy has been badly affected.
The day we left Venice the famous Carnival was shut down.Big disappointment for many tourists who had travelled from around the world for this event.
We were back a few days when Me and Mrs B had the sniffles.[runny nose].By Saturday not feeling great at all. At night we decided to call NHS 240.
First we spoke to the Call centre. Then a nurse called us back,Took all my wife`s details. We had just returned from Italy was there main concern. At 2 o'Clock in the morning a doctor called.Decided she had a heavy cold. But the next morning a specialist called and said Mrs B must be checked for Coronavirus.
She is given an appointment for Monday morning. On arrival at Yorkhill hospital she is texted to leave her car and not to touch anything on route to the testing centre.
In the hospital she is met by a specialist dressed like a character in Star Wars. Full suit protected head to toes. She is tested by taking a swab up both noses and down her throat. Told get the results in 24 hrs.
