Ardlui,Loch Long and Helensburgh May 2017
After a week off with a chest infection we had to escape the house.Our plan was to walk from Firkin point to Inverbeg.On the west shore of Loch Lomond.
Great chance to open my lungs and breath in some fresh air. But sadly the weather was not kind.
So lunch in the Ardlui hotel was the next best thing.
Haggis sandwich was excellent.I did want a roll and bacon but the chef said breakfast was over at 12.00.
Ah well it was 11.50 [well after noon] .Never mind after lunch we walked through the Ardlui boat yard.
Rain came on so back to the car. Next stop was Arrochar at the head of Loch Long.Short stop to enjoy the landscape.By now the sun is out. Great views over to Ben Arthur.
Next up we drive along the shores of the loch. Passing the Naval base at Fastlane.Passed the Peace camp and on to Garelochhead. After this we drive through the lovely village of Rhu. Finally we reach Helensburgh.
