Welcome to Paris
Paris is the capital of France and situated on the Seine River. We have visited the famous city many times and on each occasion it has been different. Always very enjoyable.A city for the romantic. I hope my travel guide will help you plan your a wonderful visit to the "the City of Lights"

Paris is always a good idea. Audrey Hepburn
The Arc de Triomphe can be seen directly north from the Eiffel Tower. The Arc is located in the middle of Charles de Gaulle Etoile - a very large traffic circle. Running to the southeast of the Arc de Triomphe is the Champs Elysees. We had the pleasure of walking the many stairs up to the top.

It was wonderful watching the Olympics in 2024. Paris opened its arms to the rest of the world. Amazing. It showed the city at its best. We seen so many of the great sights. Hopefully I can see them again soon.
Eiffel Tower
Built as a temporary exhibit for the 1889 World’s Fair, the iron structure now symbolises Paris the world over. The tower sparkles with twinkling lights every hour on the hour from twilight to 2 am. A champagne bar is on the top of the tower, open from noon to 10pm. Sadly not for us Budget travellers.

The Montmartre district of Paris is famous for its artists, writers, poets and evening entertainment. Perched on a hilltop overlooking the city of Paris, Montmartre is home to a number of tourist attractions including Sacre-Coeur church and numerous museums and art galleries.
Notre Dame Cathedral is a top Paris landmark and one of the most famous churches in the world. Construction of the cathedral began in 1163 and finished around 1330. Today, it is one of the most stunning Gothic buildings in Europe.
On April 15, 2019, the Notre Dame cathedral caught fire, with horrified Parisians watching as its iconic spire burned and fell to the ground.
River Seine
Ok I have told you about the main things to see. The food is not my chosen subject but many people go to France to experience the cuisine. When I have been there I have had to watch the pennies.Paris is expensive. Very expensive.

Champs Elysees
Paris is the fashion capital of the world. The home to many famous clothing designers, including Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Laurent and Christian Dior.I have only heard these top fashion companies but there are many more.
Fashion design and production became prominent in France since 15th century.
Remember to hide your visa card at the bottom of your pocket or you will struggle to pay bills for a very long time.

Louvre.
We have never wanted to go to see the Mona Lisa - Your`e only allowed about 8 feet from it? I did`t want to wait for ages for a glimpse of the painting. No photographs aloud.

We had a special time watching the Bastille parade.
Bastille Day, a celebration of the storming of the Bastille in 1789, the biggest festival in the city, is a military parade taking place every year on 14 July on the Champs-Élysées, from the Arc de Triomphe to Place de la Concorde.

It even has it`s own Disneyland.We have visited in summer and at Christmas time.
