The St Kitts Scenic Railway
When I found out I was going to St Kitts there was only one thing I had to do. The “Last Railway in the West Indies”
The 3-hour journey makes a 30-mile circle around the beautiful Eastern Caribbean island of St. Kitts.

As a fan of railway trips this was perfect. Different, fun and scenic. The train was built between 1912 and 1926. It`s job was to deliver sugar cane from the fields to the sugar mill in the island`s capital Basseterre.
I found it a great experience. Great way to see the country in a short period of time. Our conductor was our tour guide. The Train passes old sugar cane estates with abandoned windmills and chimneys.
You must go upstairs. Here you get the uninstructed views.
You also get some rum punch. Enjoyed that part.
We also were treated to two traditional dancers.

An enjoyable after noon while on the island.
