Dresden
We had only two nights here. The city never let us down.
Walking from our hotel to the river Elbe was special. Passing through the historical centre. Nothing against the city but I think naming it the “Florence of the Elbe” is not really accurate. The cities are completely different.

Dresden is located in eastern Germany. It has stunning architecture and cultural heritage. Historical buildings include Frauenkirche, Zwinger Palace, Semperoper, and the Old Masters Picture Gallery. The city surrounds the picturesque Elbe River.
Most of the highlights in Dresden can be found in the old part of town: Altstadt (literally “old town” in German).
Hope my pictures do the city justice.
"Long Corridor" between the Royal Palace and the Johanneum.
The bombing of the city almost destroyed the city centre.
Near the end of World War II, Allies bombed Dresden. Almost flatten
it. Since the end of the Iron curtain the city has been rebuilt. Almost
to its greater beauty.

We spent our last 2 nights here while on our Germany/Czech 2024 adventure. Premier inn.

We left from here to see Colditz. The famous prisoner of war camp.
