Fifty thousand people have been buried here. Not everyone has a grave or headstone. Approximately 3,500 monuments exist here. It s Adjacent to Glasgow Cathedral and was modeled on Père-Lachaise in the French capital of Paris.

William Wallace monument. Its next to the Jewish Cemetry.
At the time it was one of the few cemeteries to keep records of the dead.

A monument to John Knox, which was erected in 1825, dominates the hill.
The very first burial in the Glasgow Necropolis was a Jew called Joseph Levi. Above a photo of the Jewish Cemetry's. Only 25 graves.
Many people don't know Knox is buried beside St Giles Cathedral Edinburgh. Actually it is now a carpark.
