Welcome to Loch Lomond
Loch Lomond is one of the highlights of any trip to Scotland.
This part of Great Travel Images is easy for me . Loch Lomond is very near to where I stay . We spend a lot of weekends wandering along the Bonnie banks.
The grandeur of Ben Lomond on the east shore to village life of Luss on the West bank. Any season is fine but I love winter for the snow shots or Autumn for the colours. Loch Lomond is now part of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

Ben Lomond

Ben Lomond--Glasgow`s nearest mountain.Ben Lomond is 974 m (3,195 ft) in height and the most southerly of the Scottish Munro peaks.

Loch Lomond is a freshwater Scottish loch, lying on the Highland Boundary Fault. It is the largest loch/lake in Great Britain by surface ard area.

A least once a month we jump in the car and head to the Lochside . After much debate we decide which shore . If we set off early we go east to Inversnaid. Thats on the East shore but we have to go via Aberfoyle. After a short stop will drive on through the village after about twenty minutes we reach other loch . First we see Loch Chon,then the wonderful loch Arklet. Here you can take great photographs of Arklet with the Arrocher Alps in the back ground.

After a short stop at this Loch we carry on to Stronachlachar. This small hamlet is at the head of another famous loch . Loch Katrine Loch Katrine is owned by Scottish Water and is the primary water reservoir for much of the city of Glasgow and its surrounding areas.
From here we drive to Loch Lomond . Inversnaid has great views right down the loch and over to the peaks on the west bank. Another great day out in Scotland.

Arrocher Alps is a nickname for the mountain range which has the village of Arrocher closeby.

Today we had brunch in the Lodge on the Loch. A gift from a friend. REALLY good. Service was great and the food was super. You find the Lodge at the very end of the village. The day started with heavy rain but improved as the day went on.
If you have a special occasion this is the place for you.

Luss famous for the STV show Take the High road. The grocer shop is still there but no Mrs Mac.

The Macfarlanes run the mail service on the Loch. You can join the boat at Balmaha for a fun visit to the islands. It travels to four islands delivering mail.
Inchtavannich, Inchmurrin, Inchcruin and Inchfad. We took the Post boat to to the island of Inchmurrin. We had lunch which was excellent. Here is my webpage >>>>>>>>
