Mull July 2012
What a wonderful island Mull is. Mountains, sealochs and wildlife. Mull has it all.
The ferry from Oban takes around 45 minutes. The boat trip is a great way to start your stay on the Island. Tobermory is the main town and capital . Brightly coloured buildings along the front street make the town look picturesque. The harbour gets very busy with yachts and fishing boats. The town has a good variety of shops and lots of places to stay.

Most visitors only visit the capital Tobermory. Make sure you drive right round the island to see the wonderful view and a chance to see some of the island`s the wildlife.
The Isle of Mull is a popular destination for naturalists and photographers being one of the primary spots in the UK for seeing some of Britain's more elusive species. The island is home to a thriving population of otters (Lutra lutra) that live in coastal habitat, hunting during the day.

We have now been to Mull three times and every time has been different. Our 2016 was just after Easter and roads were quieter. Watch out for the pot holes. One of the highlights is the white sandy beaches. We love Calgary beach which is on the north of the island. Well signposted from Tobermory.
Seaeagle. We really enjoyed our wildlife searchs on Mull. The island is of great wildlife.
The island is home to over 250 different bird species including the White-tailed Eagle, which was reintroduced in the nearby Island of Rùm and migrated to Mull, where it now has a stronghold. Basking sharks, Minke whales, porpoises and dolphins are among the sea life that can be seen on boat tours from Mull.
