Salo was our first port of call.Never had much time to judge how good this village was.We did walk along the pier at Lungolago –One of the best things to do in the town.
Limone was our base for our 2022 visit to Lake Garda. What a beautiful place. Really enjoyed our stay there. Amazing restaurants. We had a super hotel. The scenery is stunning.
It`s known for it`s lemon orchards. There are lot`s of lemon-flavored souvenirs.Great place to enjoy a small glass of limoncello (a famous Italian aperitif).
Riva is at the very north of the lake. Lovely port. Rest of the town I was not so keen on.We took the ferry from Limone to Malcesine. Then the local bus round windy streets to Riva. We took the fast boat to our base in Limone.
Peschiera has a train station. So easy to getto Verona. We used the bus which was easy too. Peschiera del Garda is located on the southern end of Lake Garda. The town's sixteenth-century island fortress and walls are visible today.
The Pebble beach
If you’re looking for a beach? Cappuccini beach is just a few hundred metres from the centre. It is a pebble beach.Sadly we never had time to visit. Hopefully next time.

We took the ferry over to Barolino .On the east side of the lake.
It was very busy. There are many bars and restaurants. I thought it was very touristy. A local told us it was the center of Bardolino wine country.

Barolino has historic center which has beautiful blend of cobbled streets, pretty buildings and lakefront expanses. A marina shows of many colourful boats.
Barolino runs into the Village Garda. We enjoyed the lakeside walk from town to town.Garda Village was the most commercialised place we visited.Felt more like a family resort.Nothing wrong with that but not as quaint. There are bungalows and mobile homes set in a large park.
Gardaland, Italy’s biggest amusement park, is just a 20-minute drive away. The southern shore of Lake Garda is 2.2 miles away.

On the opposite side of the lake from our base in Limone, you’ll find Malcesine. Under the massif Monte Baldo. Which is the highest mountain around the lake. We took the lift up to the plateau.Where we got amazing views over the lake. There is a beautiful harbour. Mescaline has a castle.Sadly we didn`t have time to have a look round.
We missed out on Sirmione .One of the gems around Lake Garda.
This gives us a reason to return.
Thank you Lake Garda you never let us down.
