Old town

Faro is know for it`s airport. The gateway to the Algarve. This region has sun blessed beaches. The party capital of Portugal.
​This page is all about the city it`s self.  

White Storks can be found everywhere, but I enjoyed watching them on the roof tops of Faro. You can see their nests on lots of roofs but to see the bird it`s self is special.  

Above is Faro Cathedral. It`s a magnificent church and one of the most visited in the Algarve. Worth a walk up to the top of the church tower you can see the whole city, the sea and Ria Formosa. There is a charge to enter.

My visit was in January. Winter is perhaps the quietest time, allowing you to calmly enjoy the city away from the crowds.

Oranges can be seen all around the Algarve.
