Wild about Argyll is a new promotion to highlight one of my favourite areas in Scotland. Oran Mor, Glasgow was the base for the launch. I really enjoyed the the night. It was hosted by Mark Beaumont. Mark is a famous adventurer known for making world records.
18 February 2010 he completed a cycle from Anchorage, Alaska, USA to Ushuaia in Southern Argentina for a BBC Television series. Am Jealous
The highlight for me was the Scottish folk band Skerrymore. The band's song - Live Forever, has been picked as the theme tune for the Wild About Argyll campaign.
Wild about Argyll focuses on what the area has to offer. Its a special place for visitors home and afar.
Glasgow is being pushed as the gateway to Argyll.

On the night we saw many superb adventure films. All highlighting what the area has to offer. Mark`s film about his adventures around Argyll was brilliant.
Please note the Wild Argyll project is not just for the super fit adventurer. The wild part is all about the wilderness,wildlife and the rugged mountains that look down on the Sea Lochs. Dont forget our stunning beaches. The Hebridean Islands also have beautiful sandy beaches.
