​We were warned but not warned how bad. This was the worse weather I have seen for many years.
Scotland was hit by icy Siberian winds and heavy snow from Russia.
Nicknamed the Beast from the East.
​I was sent home from work at 1-30 in the afternoon.
It took me till 3-45 to get home.
 'red alert' brought by the Beast -- was a first for me.
Red is the most serious of the weather warnings. It means “extreme weather” is expected.
The advice was not to travel unless ‘absolutely necessary’

 Storm Emma came in from the Atlantic bringing more snow and cold-cold temperatures. Emma was nicknamed by the Portuguese weather service. It started out in the Atlantic and brought along snow, blizzards, wild gales and freezing rain.

Very rare to have so much snow fall on the start of Spring.
​The start of March. Worse since 1984. Even a keen photographer struggled to get out to capture this event.

The cars were all in their garages,Buses in the station and the trains not to been seen. The Beast was winning.
Transport minister says stay home.

The storm started Wednesday morning.Thursday the country shut down.On Friday I returned to work.Deep snow made travel a nightmare. Saturday the snow in side streets was still deep but main roads were clear.
