Glacier Express is one of the great train journeys of the world.It was on the must see before I die list. I was not disappointed. In fact I loved it.

Really Breathtaking Glacier Express links two mountain resorts of Zermatt and St Moritz.
You get food served to you at your table. We had booked a meal on line. Meal of the day. Which was meat roll. No bad.

Our trip was-
We departed Brig 10.18 am arrived at St. Moritz at 16.38pm. Quite a long journey but seemed to pass quick. There was always something to look at.

Large panoramic windows to enjoy the great views
We were able to use our Inter rail ticket but seat reservation is required. Bit of a con. But It was worth every penny. Such a memorable journey. The panoramic windows are great for viewing, but the double glazing isn't great for reflection-free photography.

This route is one of the highest railways in the Alps and climbs up to the glistening glaciers before descending to Italy.

The Glacier Express doesn’t operate mid-October to Mid-December. Other regular schedule trains follow the same tracks.

The scenery is exactly the same whether you choose 1st or 2nd class and the on board service is the same, too.
