I had the fortune to spend an evening at the Speyside Wildlife Hide.Special time.I was joined by fellow animal lovers and a very knowledgeable wildlife expert.
The hide is located in the Cairngorms mountain range within the Caledonian Pine Forest close to Aviemore.It is not on the local bus route but the local taxi company is aware of the location Aviemore Taxis 01479 811111. I went from village of Boat of Garten. It was one of my favourite wildlife watching experiences.

The hide had heaters- which was super on a clear autumn night.
The night started with a couple of Red squirrels stealing the food put down for the Pine Martins.After around 30mins the Pine Martins did turn up. I was now enjoying this wild life experience.There are large viewing windows which help us to take photographs. I always struggle with night photography.
Two hours later the stars of the show turned up.The Badgers. They wandered around to see it was safe.When they were happy they strolled over to the hide to get a small feast.
Brilliant to see the badgers up close.Another animal I had never seen in real life.Our time in the Hide lasted approximately three hours.Well worth the late night and time spent waiting on the wildlife.
