Normally we would travel to Oban via Inveraray or Tyndrum. This webpage shows our journey via Glencoe.
We start the normal way by driving along the Bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. Passed the grandeur of Ben Lomond.

Turn right at the Tarbet hotel. Sadly closed.If you would like to stretch your legs in the village there is a large carpark and a chance to see right down Loch Lomond. Stunning views
Moving on -you pass the Ardlui hotel. This is at the top of the Loch.
Then on to Inverarnan .We pass the famous Drovers inn.Famed for having haunted rooms.

We leave Loch Lomond and start climbing. You really feel you are in the highlands now.We pass bye Tyndrum and the bikers stop.The Green Welly. One of our favourite places is next up. Bridge of Orchy.Lovely walks here.The West Highland way passes through here. Long distance walk.
We travel northwards to the wild Rannoch moor. Barren land with small ponds of water. High mountains in the back ground.
We stopped at the Kingshouse Glencoe for lunch. Wonderful setting.

From Glencoe we travel along the banks of Loch Leven
to the Ballachulish bridge. We drive on. You would cross the bridge for the road to Fort William.

After a short drive we start heading south.Along the stunning Loch Linnhe. We stopped to view the castle on an Island.Castle Stalker

We drive on and over the Connel bridge.Follow the A85 in to Oban.
